Ways to Keep the Kiddos Busy...

by Anne Frewen 03/17/2020

After pulling out the shape sorter and reading the same book five times I realized a need another game plan...or maybe 20 game plans.  Most of us are in the same boat so I thought I'd share a some of what I've found most helpful out there.  The sites below are geared more to toddler through elementary school but I've also found my husband enjoying a few so you never know!  Enjoy and stay safe and sane parents!

Busy Little Bee

This site is one of my go-tos for happenings in Fairfield County but gratefully now they are focusing on activities to keep your kids busy while at home.  Each day features a different “theme” with Monday’s being “sports.”  The ideas are super creative, easy to make, and won’t destroy your house.  A few of my faves include “tennis” and “skeeball”.

Busy Toddler

As you might have guessed this blog focuses on the little tikes.  Some of their ideas can get a bit messy but your child is guaranteed to learning something!  A few that I like are painting ice cubes, find the shape, and DIY ball ramp.  And be warned, DIY ball ramp will amaze the young and old for hours (well maybe half hours but it is very smart).

Popsugar

This site has it all from fitness to eating to parenting.  Their spin on how to get through no school is more basic but some of these things we (or I) just need to be reminded of.  A few I forgot about?  Scavenger hunts, puppet shows, and coloring.  The last one I didn’t need a reminder on but did you know there are free printable coloring pages online?  Another favorite idea is writing notes to your relatives.
